TIPS FOR CHOOSING FRAMES CORRECTLY

The time has come to choose a hollow for your home and you are wondering which of all will be the most ideal for your needs. Buying the ideal frame requires the right choice from you. Below, all the parameters are noted that you need to consult in order to achieve the best purchase of frames for you and your requirements.

1) THE SPECIES:

The frames we can divide into 2 Basic pairs of categories. The one basic pair is: a) open and B) sliding. The waterproofing of the opening frames is based on EPDM tires and on sophisticated, technological components, such as tilt mechanisms, perimeter mechanisms and locks. On the other hand, the waterproofing of sliding frames is based on brushes (seals).

The second basic pair is: a) the cold and B) the heat-insulating frames.

Cold ones are subordinate to thermal insulators, for the reason that they do not insulate the Profil of aluminum, resulting in many times the phenomenon of dew and of course energy losses. On the contrary, thermal insulation frames, combined with the insulation of masonry and the installation of double mosques, contribute very positively to the energy efficiency of buildings – it is also given as a European Union directive on the energy identity of buildings.

2) ATTENTION TO DIMENSIONS:

The frames are either open or sliding, have specific specifications in their dimensions, so that they work to the maximum of their capabilities. For this, the type of frames to be used for the corresponding dimension of the opening should be chosen with great care, in order to avoid future problems in their operation.
For particularly large openings, there are special types of frames, which can be installed, such as retractable, harmonicas, etc..

3) THE POSITION OF THE FRAME:

The location of the frame is another parameter that significantly affects your choice. Its exposure to the sun, the wind pressure in this particular spot, the existence or not of a marquee and generally how exposed to the weather, as well as the location of the building, are the main factors that will lead you to the choice of the appropriate frame.
For example, it is not advisable to place a Cold Hollow on the north side of the building, but a heat-insulating hollow.

4) WINDOW AND THERMAL INSULATION:

The hollow plays a very important role in the issue of thermal insulation. Thermal insulation frames contribute to the maximum energy saving.
They give a very high thermal insulation index and therefore economy on fuel in winter and power economy for air conditioning in summer.

5) THE ROLE OF THE DOUBLE GLASS IN THE WINDOW FRAME:

The role of the double glass in the Hollow is very important, which is why there are specific specifications regarding double glazing. The most important of these are: the thickness of the mosques, the gap between them, the type of mosque (eg. energy glazing), the “filling” of the gap with a special gas that lowers the coefficient U, etc.. Of course, in no case do double glazing by themselves offer the desired thermal insulation of buildings.
This is achieved by combining a heat-insulating window and double glazing.

6) CLIMATIC CONDITIONS OF THE REGION:

In areas where the wind currents are strong or there are very large temperature fluctuations between winter and summer, it is advisable to choose opening and thermal insulation frames. Also, the choice of double glazing with gas, in their gap, greatly enhances thermal insulation.

7) FRAME AND CERTIFICATION:

A good Hollow in its final form has many factors that determine it, such as the alloy of profil, the design philosophy of the series, the specifications of the system, the processing of the paint (Qualiqoat), the placement of good quality components, etc.. At the moment in the Greek market there is a quality mark called Seka Q SYSTEM, which guarantees for the specifications of construction and installation of aluminum frames.
Seka Q SYSTEM is not mandatory for manufacturers. But the builders who got it, have invested a lot in logistical infrastructure and can guarantee for the construction and installation of a correct frame.

8) RIGHT FRAME – RIGHT CONSTRUCTION:

In addition to all of the above, the most important role in choosing the right one the manufacturer has it. Imagine if any of this is not correct, that is, we have a very good system but we did not use correct components, or we have a correct profil alloy, but we did not use the correct dyeing processes, what result would we have. It is obvious that the role of the manufacturer in selecting and applying all of the above is decisive.
